Firecrackers and Shooting on Marriages

Firecrackers have become an inseparable part of festivities all over the world. The effulgent, colorful and deafening crackers come out of the tiny hands of over one and half lakh children compelled to toil day and night in suffocating work sheds, anticipating death or mutilation due to the explosive nature of the material they handle.
Now a days the use of firecrackers and shooting on eve of marriages in our country is increasing day by day. They have been on a rise in the last couple of years. As the facts and figures indicate youngsters are mostly found involved in this activity.

People consider it “cool” to use more and more firecrackers and shooting in air. They consider it to be a symbol of prosperity irrespective of the fact that such activities are dangerous and create unwanted noise pollution.

It is the need of the day for the police to take strict measures against all such activities. It is also the parent’s responsibility to keep check on their children’s activity. It is our duty to take care of people in our surroundings.
