1 Sino vote for Pak

As we, me and my sister, were going to her vocational school at Memon center to drop her off, I saw a Chinese man walking toward some direction. Although I was completely oblivious of the fact as to where he was walking to but the glimpse of his face that I caught was astonishing. The way he walked, with the strap of his bag spread across his chest, they way he was confident walking in a country which has a reputation not to mention he was walking among the crowd and he did not seem to try too hard to completely blend in, he did not seem to care about his features, his color, he just kept walking, confidently.

I wondered what he was doing here in Pakistan, what does a man who belongs to a country which has the balance of power of the World want from Pakistan? The answer though is simpler than I expected, he just came here to work or train. The second thought that came in my mind was the introduction of Chinese language in our middle schools and once again I wondered what if after ten to fifteen years the mob, in which that Chinese subject was so obvious, spoke Chinese then may be Pakistan would witness more than a single Chinese subject in a day, for all we know, may be this mob would have a parallel amount of Chinese and Pakistanis.

I have read so much about how communism failed in Eastern Europe or in Russia and it became a republic in the 20th century, I have read so many times that the socialist system failed because it brought the economy down in Russia. But china, according to my research, adopted a few capitalist policies which have benefited them and privatization has happened in china as well. According to the web, China took the communism and socialist system to the next level only because of the rise of entrepreneurs in the country. May be, that Chinese in Memon center was an entrepreneur willing to start his business with some Pakistani private company.

What took china to the status quo of a self-made world power is its hard working people, workaholics, literate entrepreneurs and experience. Still a few policies are weak but the subjects have made their country a strong, counterpart of the USA in the world while the world relies on china for the success of international economy.

I have not forgotten to mention that these countries were war struck once while the Pakistani land, as fertile as it is, have not faced so many wars except a few over border issues and independence. These great powers have started from scratch; there is not much of a difference between the policies of the developed democracies of the world and ours, the developing newly born democracy. What is surprising is Pakistan is rich with the raw material which makes me think that we do not even need to start from scratch; we already have what it takes to be a democracy which can stand on its feet. I know how the provincial disagreement is there in our country which is quite depressing as we need the lands which are rich with raw material.

Methinks that there is a bright future ahead if we stop feeling sorry for ourselves, if we start appreciating our talent in our country and not let them leave to find better jobs in the developed states. Methinks we need to value each other just like how the Indians, the Chinese, the Americans live peacefully and sociably within their land, to them it does not matter if someone comes from the southern part or the northern, what matters to them is the amount of the work being done and the preparation for a tomorrow. May be if we allow a bit of optimism among ourselves, if we stop shedding our own blood over a political party clash which is absurd not to mention, then maybe it would benefit us.  What we do not need is to start from scratch economically because we have the required bounty of nature but we need to start from scratch as regard accepting each other as countrymen, we need to start from scratch when it comes to accepting someone’s hard work. This is what can take us to a next level or a better future for our younger, newer generation. This opinion of mine was shaped thanks to that Chinese fellow in my land of pure, thanks to his vote for my country for choosing it for his business.
